No More Crack Head Sugar Mix

Sugar Mix - This is what it looks like!!!

My Sugar mix recipe is something I created to be a healthy alternative of refined sugar in your recipes. You use it cup for cup. If your recipe calls for one cup sugar then use one cup mix.
Why would I create a mix? Well here are some thoughts to ponder:

  • 35-40% of Americans are considered over weight
  • the average American consumes around 150 lbs of refined sugar a year
  • 100 years ago the average American consumed about 4 lbs of sugar a year.
  • High intake of sugar impairs your immune system
  • sugar causes underlying inflammation
  • Artificial sweeteners are created in a lab with chemicals
My Sugar mix is low on the Glycemic index scale.
That is good news for everyone.
The Glycemic index scale is a scale used to tell you how fast a carbohydrate will spike your blood sugar and cause an insulin secretion. It is a rating from 0-100.
.Over the past 15 years or so, low-GI diets have been associated with decreased risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, stroke, depression, chronic kidney disease, formation of gall stones, neural tube defects, formation of uterine fibroids, and cancers of the breast, colon, prostate, and pancreas. This is established by various research groups.
Where do these sweeteners fall on the GIS?
 TABLE SUGAR IS 65 and High Fructose Corn syrup is 73 or higher ON THE GLYCEMIC INDEX SCALE. Both considered high on the scale.

Here is a breakdown of my sugar mix.

Coconut sugar =35
Xylitol = 12
Stevia = 0

Here is how you make it.1/3 cup of each and mix together. I have this mix in a large container that I have on hand so I don't need to create the mix each time I want to sweeten something. WARNING: once you start using this mix and your taste buds calm down from their "sugar high" then high fructose corn syrup and table sugar will not be a craving for you. You won't be a Sweet "crack-head" any more!!!
