Oh the laundry!!!

Are you aware that most if not all the commercial laundry products contain hundreds of toxic chemicals? Well think of it like this. Your skin is the largest organ in your body and it absorbs whatever you put on it or against it... Hummm. Well if you are trying to detox and live a less toxic life then you have to think of not only the food and drink you consume but what you breath in and allow on your skin. When I began my healing journey I had to think of detoxing on a larger scale. If you are sick, feel sluggish or have an inflammatory condition- even asthma or skin issues then think of what you place on your skin. It is cumulative!!
In this blog I will show you some easy recipes for non-toxic laundry care AND they work well. I know because I use them. I have tried many recipes and these are the ones I feel work the best and are easy to make and use. Take a couple hours on a weekend and make these products. Your lungs and your skin will thank you!!!

                                                       Softening Clothes:

For the dryer:
wool ball or tennis ball- it removes lint
foil ball- make a foil ball from regular kitchen foil- it removes static
Rubber dryer ball- softens the clothes get it at Natural Grocery or Amazon
Just leave them in the dryer and use over and over
For a lovely smell do this:
Container with lid
1 black washcloth and 1 white washcloth
1 bottle of your favorite organic essential oil. I use Lavender. drop the oil on the cloths and seal in your container then placce one in the dryer with whatever color load you are drying. then when the clothes are dry take the cloth out and drop more oil on the cloth and place back in the container. The washcloths will stay scented and ready for your next load.
For the washer:
Use distilled white vinegar in the Fabric softener compartment or a downy ball. This will further soften your clothes.
